With mLevel's Mission Manager, you can create several different types of activities, including games, videos, tasks, and more. These activities are what your learners engage with. Below, you will find a description of each type of activity to help you choose the one that fits your learning content best.

Games

 Academy

Activity Overview: Leveraging the Knowledge Navigator, this activity provides an open-book style assessment, along with adaptive questioning and real-time player analytics.  

Learning Description:

  • Open-book assessment
  • Adaptive questioning - skip the content the learner already knows and focus on the lesser known areas
  • Knowledge assessment

Purpose: This open-book style activity provides a real-world experience where learners have access to information at their finger tips. With adaptive questioning, this activity is smart enough to adapt to the learner and display only the content the learner needs help with.  

Applicable Content: 

  • Fact-based learning
  • Situational simulations

Assessment

Activity Overview: Evaluate how well your knowledge mastery measures up by answering a variety of questions within this assessment activity.

Learning Description:

  • Multiple question types
  • Knowledge assessment

Purpose: 

Applicable Content: 

  • Fact-based learning
  • Situational simulations

Customization: Feedback On/Off, Timer, Manually define number of questions, Manually define order of questions, Background imagery, Activity Branding, Introduction text, Start text

Block Party

Game Overview: Party in various cities, and break grouped blocks filled with confetti. Blow up blocks by tapping 2 or more of the same color. The more blocks in the group, the more points you earn. Receive bonus multipliers by answering questions correctly.

Learning Description:

  • Combines learning games with a more traditional game experience
  • Game activities award you the option to answer multiple questions
  • Try to blow up all the blocks to clear the board

Purpose: The strength of the user's knowledge is tested as they are presented more options. The user is engaged by interspersing traditional game play with questions and answers.

Applicable Content:

  • Short questions/answers
  • Fact memorization

Customization: Introduction text, Start text, and Activity branding

Question Requirements: 10 - Only accepts questions with at least 5 answers options

 

Block Party 3D

 

Game Overview: Similar to the original Block Party, party if various cities and break grouped 3D blocks. Blow up blocks by tapping 2 or more of the same color. The more blocks in the group, the more points you earn. Receive bonus multipliers by answering questions correctly.

Learning Description:

  • Combines learning games with a more traditional game experience
  • Game activities award you the option to answer multiple questions
  • Try to blow up all the blocks to clear the board

Purpose: The strength of the user's knowledge is tested as they are presented more options. The user is engaged by interspersing traditional game play with questions and answers.

  • Fact memorization

Check Point

Game Overview: Visit 3 levels, typically cities or other locations, advancing by answering questions. You have a limited amount of time to play and hints are allowed.

Learning Description:

  • Multiple choice game
  • 3 levels
  • Number of answer choices increases from 3 to 5 as you play

Purpose: The strength of the user's knowledge is tested as they are presented more options.

Applicable Content:

  • Short questions/answers
  • Fact memorization
  • Illustrating products within level
  • Promotes engagement

Customization: Customized level configurations can represent cities or products.

Question Requirements: 18

  • At least 6 questions with 3 or more answer options
  • At least 6 questions with 4 or more answer options
  • At least 6 questions with 5 or more answer options

Tip: you can upload all 18 questions with 5 or more options and the system will automatically convert some of the questions into the lesser amounts

 

Coordinates

Game Overview: Find GPS coordinates of a secret location by identifying details of specific topics. Tap each item to learn more, then drag the correct one into GPS.

Learning Description:

  • Select multiple items to build an entire answer
  • 6 rounds of play
  • Quantity of available features is reduced within each round of play

Purpose: This is one of the most complex activities. Users must understand multiple aspects of a product/solution, and cannot progress without being correct.

Applicable Content:

  • Topics where more answer options are available
  • Support multiple true answers
  • Allows applying multiple characteristics or product features to an answer
  • Promotes analysis

Question Requirements:

  • 2 questions that have 2 correct answers
  • 2 questions that have 3 correct answers
  • 2 questions that have 4 correct answers

Customization: Customize your GPS points and background images

Tip: Questions must be tagged in order for the activity to function properly

 

Fast Lane

Game Overview: Drive to 3 different cities. Avoid road hazards and advance to the next city by answering questions correctly.

Learning Description:

  • Right or wrong, two-answer layout
  • 3 levels

Purpose: Users are presented two options as possible answers. Good for fact-based content.

Applicable Content:

  • True/False content
  • Fact memorization

Customization: Customized level configurations represent cities/locations.

Question Requirements: 21

Tip: you can upload all questions with 2-6 answer options and the system will convert some of the questions into the lesser amounts.

 

Ice Breaker

 

Activity Overview: Choose the correct answer before the ice block lands on the bottom. Once the ice blocks pile to the top, the game is over.

Learning Description: 

  • Right or wrong, two-answer layout
  • Single level

Purpose: Users are presented 2 options and need to select an answer within a certain time.

Applicable Content:

  • Fact-based content
  • True/False content

Customization: Question timer, Introduction text, Start text, and Activity branding

Question Requirements: 30

Tip: You can upload all questions with 2-6 answer options and the system will automatically convert some of the questions into the lesser amounts.

 

Learning Lab

Game Overview: Find the correct mixture of correct answers for a given question. Tap any answer option to add it to your lab solution. There is no time limit, but you will get penalized for flushing your solution or submitting incorrect answers.

Learning Description:

  • Select multiple items to build an entire answer
  • 6 rounds of play
  • Quantity of available features is reduced within each round of play

Purpose: This is one of the most complex activities. Users must understand multiple aspects of a product/solution, and cannot progress without being correct.

Applicable Content:

  • Topics where more answer options are available
  • Support multiple true answers
  • Allows applying multiple characteristics or product features to an answer
  • Promotes analysis

Question Requirements:

  • 2 questions that have 2 correct answers
  • 2 questions that have 3 correct answers
  • 2 questions that have 4 correct answers

Path Finder

Activity Overview: Navigate your way through a series of simulated events using the arrows to move forward and backward within the game. When presented with a decision, select the best possible course of action, but be careful - you only get one attempt to answer correctly at each decision point!

Learning Description:

  • Scenario-based training
  • Guided discovery content
  • Knowledge assessment

Purpose: This guided discovery learning method provides an immersive learner-centric approach with a simplified administrative set-up. This activity also allows learners to use the skills and knowledge they have gathered during other missions activities and apply these to a set of situational tasks for assessment.

Applicable Content: 

  • Sales role playing
  • Customer service training (call center, customer support)
  • HR and management training (policy, procedure, compliance)
  • Situational simulations

Customization: Customized content within panels, including text, color, images and videos. Choice of linear or branching decision paths (or combination of both)

Question Requirements: none, but you must have an End Scene

Quiz Ball

Game Overview: Find all the knowledge gems, earning huge bonus points along the way by hitting knowledge gems and correctly answering questions. Shoot balls to clear pages, gain points and enable special power ups.

Learning Description:

  • Combines learning games with a more traditional game experience
  • Game activities award you the option to answer multiple questions
  • Clear all knowledge gems to complete each level

Purpose: The strength of the user's knowledge is tested as they are presented more options. The user is engaged by interspersing traditional game play with questions and answers.

Applicable Content:

  • Short questions/answers
  • Fact memorization

Customization: Introduction text, Start text, and Activity branding

Question Requirements: 10 - Only accepts questions with at least 5 answers options 

 

Shape Escape

Activity Overview: Move throughout the sphere to collect the dots before time runs out.  Avoid the enemy shapes - if they catch you, they'll decrease your point multiplier.  Collect questions and answer them correctly to eliminate the enemies and earn more points.

Learning Description: 

  • Right or wrong, multi-answer layout.
  • Single level.

Purpose: Users are presented multiple options and need to select an answer within a certain time.

Applicable Content: 

  • Short questions/answers
  • Fact memorization

Customization: Introduction text, Start text, and Activity branding

Question Requirements: 10

 

ShortFuze

Activity Overview: Choose the correct answer before the fuze burns out. Over time your number of answer choices will increase from three to six.  

Learning Description:

  • Right or wrong, multi-answer layout (amount of answer options increases per level)
  • Multiple levels

Purpose: Users are presented an opportunity to learn facts and get acquainted with content. Cannot proceed/complete game once the fuze (time) runs out.

Applicable Content:

  • Fact-based content
  • Product specifications 

Customization: Question timer, Introduction text, Start text, and Activity branding

Question Requirements: 20

  • At least 5 questions with 3 or more answer options
  • At least 5 questions with 4 or more answer options
  • At least 5 questions with 5 or more answer options
  • At least 5 questions with 6 or more answer options

Tip: You can upload all 20 questions with 6 or more options and the system will automatically convert some of the questions into the lesser amounts.

 



Other Activities

Custom Task

Activity Overview: Instructions to complete a real-life task no housed within the Mission.

Learning Description: Instructions are presented with a Yes/No checkbox to indicate completion.

Purpose: Can be used to tie a Mission to activities that must be completed elsewhere.

Applicable Content: Tests, events, certification

Customization: Introduction text and Activity branding

 

External Link

Activity Overview: Link to an external webpage.

Learning Description: Link to a webpage will relative learning content.

Purpose: Can be used to link to externally hosted content.

Applicable Content: Reference page, website, contest rules.

Customization: Introduction text and Activity branding

 

Knowledge Navigator

Activity Overview: Select a topic and flip through flash cards to study information.

Learning Description: Information for all activities constructed in an easy-to-study flashcard format.

Purpose: Can be used for pre-game prep, as reference during game play, or for real-world easy reference. Topics identified during game play as needing additional study are added to a study list.

Applicable Content: All types

Customization: Images

 

 

Video

Activity Overview: Play a video within a Mission.

Learning Description: Enhances learning with video content in a Mission.

Purpose: Reinforce training message with additional forms of media.
